Shelvey was born January 21, 1938 in Pocahontas, VA. Shelvey was the daughter of Blanchard Garland Jackson and Dorothy Grethen Presley. Shelvey died July 1, 2003 in Ashland, Hanover Co., VA. OBIT: Ann Spraggins, age 65, of Ashland, devoted wife of W. E. (Eddie) Spraggins, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2003. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Jean McKoy and husband Maurice of Chesterfield; two nieces, Monica McKoy and Cathy Patterson; also three great-nieces, and two great-nephews. Remains rest at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road where family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednsday and where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment, Signal Hill Memorial Park.
