Sue died August 26, 2003 in Simpsonville, SC. OBIT: Sue Louise McGarity Garrett, 92, formerly of Bell Drive, wife of the late Hosie Lee Garrett, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Summit Place.
Born in Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Hoyt T. and Lora Stokley McGarity. Mrs. Garrett was a homemaker and was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Faye and Junior Reid of Marietta, Adelyn and Byron Foster of Alpharetta, Ga., and Laura Steven Stubbs of Greer; a daughter-in-law, Susie Garrett Johnson; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Arthur Garrett of Cedar Key, Fla., Clinton and Angie Garrett of Cedar Key, Fla., Daniel and Theresa Garrett of Gray Court and Joel Garrett of Simpsonville; a brother, Daniel McGarity, of Georgia; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garrett was predeceased by four children, Luralee Andrews, Mary Hoyt Dobbs, Van Garrett and Paul Garrett.
The family would like to acknowledge two special friends of Mrs. Garrett: Mary and Gene Dubose, of Monaghan Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Cannon Funerals and Cremations in Simpsonville, with the Rev. Kenneth Chetham officiating. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at the funeral home.
She married Hosie Lee Garrett. Hosie was born June 26, 1900 in Pelham, Greenville Co., SC. Hosie was the son of Arthur L. Garrett and Pearl Norris. Hosie died May 2, 1985 in Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA.
Sue Louise McGarity and Hosie Lee Garrett had the following children:

34435 iv. Arthur Theron. Garrett was born in Greenville, Greenville Co., SC September 27, 1936. Arthur died January 26, 2011 in Trenton, Gilchrist Co., FL.
34436 v. Van Hoesa Garrett was born in Greenville, Greenville Co., SC November 11, 1938. Van died September 24,1999 in Monroe, Walton Co., GA.
34437 vi. Jonathan Paul Garrett was born in Greenville, Greenville Co., SC November 9k, 1941. Jonathan died December 31,1995 in Easley, Pickens, Co., SC.

34439 viii. Frances Clinton Garrett was born August 13, 1947. Frances died February 11 2005. He married twice. He married Gayle Elaine Stover. Gayle was born January 26, 1950. Gayle was the daughter of Joseph Chastin Stover and Eula Mildred Hayes. Gayle died June 2, 2013 in Cobb Co., GA.
