William died March 13, 2006 in Hazlehurst, Copiah Co., MS. OBIT: Services for William J. Smith, of Hazlehurst, were today, March 15, at Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith, 86, died March 13, 2006, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst. He was born on Oct. 16, 1918, to Isom Smith and Beulah Reed Smith. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wives, Olla Mae Smith and Nellie Smith; his sons, Jerald and Jerry Smith; his three brothers and five sisters. Survivors are his son, Leon Smith, of Hazlehurst; three stepchildren and nine stepgrandchildren.

He married twice. He married Ola Mae Lench. Ola was born April 28, 1921 in TX. Ola died March 1986 in Crystal Springs, Copiah Co., MS. He married Nellie (___).

William J. Smith and Ola Mae Lench had the following children:
