Billy Wayne¹¹ Durham (Cecil Edward¹⁰, Martha Ann (Mattie)⁹ Allgood, John Green⁸, Levi⁷, Asa⁶, John Young⁵, William⁴ Algood, Edward³ Allgood, William², Edward¹ Algood) was born in Cottle Co., TX February 25, 1933. Billy died July 21, 2006 in Amarillo, Potter Co., TX. Obit: Billy Wayne Durham, 73, died Friday, July 21, 2006, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Stratford Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post 224, Dumas. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Durham, son, officiating and the Rev. Timothy Miller, son-in-law, assisting. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mr. Durham was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Paducah. He had been a Stratford resident since 1963. He worked for Sherman County for 8 years on the road and bridge construction crew. He was engaged in farming. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Stratford. He married Shirley Smith on June 10, 1962, in Paducah. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Barry Durham and wife Caroline of Midlothian and the Rev. Mark Durham and wife Anissa of Cimarron, Kan.; two daughters, Kathy Carpenter and husband A. Brian Carpenter of Moore, Okla., and Michelle Miller and husband the Rev. Timothy Miller of Mecker, Colo.; four brothers, Tom Durham of Big Cabin, Okla., Cecil Durham Jr., and Kenneth Durham, both of Aztec, N.M., and John Durham of Bloomfield, N.M.; three sisters, Irene Springfield of Pearl, Miss., Alice Worley of Austin and Pat Knepp of Fayetteville, Ark.; and six grandchildren, Jeremy, Bryan, Kelly, Josiah, Carley and Noelle.

The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 403 Pear, Dumas, TX 79029 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.

The family will be at 1311 N. Chestnut in Stratford.
