Robert died November 30,2015 in Donnellson, Lee Co., IA. IBUTL Robert Lee Helmick, 58, of Donnellson, Iowa, passed away at 3.29 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at his home.

Born July 6, 1957 the son of Walter and Mary (Rempe) Helmick. He was married to Lisa Gabel, they later divorced in 1998.

Survivors include one son; Todd Robert (Jess Nolan) Helmick of Donnellson, one daughter; Holly LeAnn (Seith Boudreau) Helmick of Farmington, baby Boudreau (arriving in April of 2016), his mother; Mary Helmick of Argyle, one sister; Carol Helmick of Argyle, one brother; David (Linda) Helmick of Argyle and one niece Amanda Helmick.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter and his grandparents.

Robert was a 1977 graduate of Central Lee High School. He worked as a diesel mechanic at Reilly Construction and then worked for WM Johnson Trucking for twenty five years. He was a member of the Twin Rivers Tractor Club and Laplanders Tractor Pulling Association. Robert enjoyed antique tractor pulling, John Wayne movies, Farmall and Oliver tractors, camping at Western Illinois Old Threshers, raising cattle and the simple farm life. He looked forward to becoming a grandpa.

Robert Lee Helmick and Lisa Gabel had the following children:
