Harold died May 21, 2008 in Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. OBIT: Harold A. Yoder, 93, of Goshen, died Wednesday morning, May 21, 2008, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen. He was born in Middlebury, Indiana, on February 1, 1915, to David E. and Lizzie (Troyer) Yoder. He married Erma E. Sigler on December 5, 1936 in Benton. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2005. A member of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury, Mr. Yoder was a 27 year employee of the Middlebury Schools where he worked as a custodian and a bus driver. He retired in 1980. Mr. Yoder attended Eight Square Country School, Middlebury High School and Goshen College. He and his wife, Erma, were involved in church work most of their married life. He served as the assistant pastor of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury for 18 years and two years in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They later started the Berea Missionary Church in Shipshewana. He is survived by a daughter, Miriam (Verl) Kauffman of Goshen; a son, Glen (Sherry) Yoder of Warsaw; a grandson; four step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Luefling of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma and two brothers, Alvin and Raymond Yoder. Friends may call 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 23, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at First Mennonite Church in Middlebury on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Linford Martin will officiate.

He married Erma Elva Sigler December 5,1936 in Benton, IN. Erma was born January 31, 1916 in White Pigeon, MI. Erma was the daughter of D Dallas Sigler and Montz M Evans. Erma died December 28, 2005 in Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. OBIT: Erma Elva Yoder, 89, of Goshen, died Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2005, at Greencroft. She was born January 31, 1916, in White Pigeon, Michigan, to D. Dallas and Montez M. (Evans) Sigler. On December 5, 1936, she married Harold A. Yoder in Benton. He survives.

Mrs. Yoder was a homemaker. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Mrs. Yoder was a 20 year Red Cross volunteer in local nursing homes and 30 years at Goshen General Hospital. She enjoyed writing poetry, some of which were published in national poetry books.

She is survived by her husband, Harold, daughter, Miriam (Verl) Kauffman of Goshen; son, Glen (Sherry) Yoder of Warsaw and one grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Earl Sigler of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas, Jr. and Forest Sigler and three sisters, Mildred Bowman, Helen Stutzman and Gladys Post.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 30, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, at the church.

A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Rev. Linford Martin and Rev. Pamela Yoder of First Mennonite Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.

Harold Albert Yoder and Erma Elva Sigler had the following children:
