George died May 7, 2012 in Salem, Marion Co., IL. OBIT: George Edward Chappell, age 85, of West Frankfort, formerly of Odin, passed away on Monday, May 7th, at Doctor's Nursing Home in Salem.
George Chappell was born on January 21st, 1927 in Odin to John Edward Chappell and Opal Flick Chappell. Both preceded him in death along with two brothers: Bill and John Chappell.
He married Joyce (Forsythe) Chappell of Salem and they divorced and he later married Nancy (Wade) Chappell on April 30th, 1994 and she survives.
He was a mechanic, member of the Odin First United Methodist Church, and World War II Navy Veteran.
Survivors include wife: Nancy (Wade) Chappell: two sons, Edward Lee Chappell and Terry Don Chappell, one daughter: Karen Sue Garrett, step-daughter: Sharon Wallace, two brothers: Tom and Joe Chappell, two sisters: Ruth Beard and Liz Burns, 12 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
He married twice. He married Joyce Forsythe.
George Edward Chappell and Joyce Forsythe had the following children:
