Cleo died February 22, 2015 in Jonesville, Catahoula Parish, LA. OBIT: Cleo Beth Coon Cooper, 77, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at her residence.
She was born July 22, 1937 in Jena to the union of her parents, Arthur "Sox" and Mildred "Dimple" Smith Coon.
Mrs. Cooper was a para-professional in the Catahoula Parish School System.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Pritchard Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Doughty and Donald Lemons officiating, with special music provided by Todd and Allison Fannin.
Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian N. Cooper; parents; and a sister, Fern Paul.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Cooper of Jonesville, Paula Joy and husband Robert of San Antonio, TX, and Lynette Burlew of Deville; grandchildren, Robbie Joy and wife Jessica, Jeannie Smith and husband Caleb, Danielle Burlew and Chance Burlew; great grandchildren, Gracie Joy, Cheslie Joy, Sadie Joy, and Aurty Smith; and special longtime friend, Carolyn Rose Fannin.
She married Julian N. Cooper. Julian was born December 12, 1933. Julian died November 26, 1996.
Cleo Beth Coon and Julian N. Cooper had the following children:
