Arthur died October 9,1998. OBIT: Arthur Haywood Allgood, 86, of the 1800 block of Broadfield Road, died Oct. 9, 1998, at his residence. Born in Portsmouth, he was retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad after 42 years of service. He was predeceased by his wife, Velma I. Allgood. Survivors include a son, William L. Allgood of Norfolk; three brothers, Roland F. Allgood and Howard D. Allgood, both of Virginia Beach, and Lloyd C. Allgood of Norfolk; a grandson, Matthew P. Allgood of Norfolk; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge. t
He married Velma Irene Litchfield October 22,1934 in Portsmouth, Portsmouth Co., VA. Velma was born September 7, 1916 in Knotts Island, NC. Velma was the daughter of Willie W. Litchfield and Lillie Maude Biowden. Velma died April 10,1989 in Norfolk, Norfolk Co., VA.

John died February 5,1981 in Chesapeake, Chesapeake Cio, VA.
