Frances died September 21, 2010 in Aurelian Springs, Halifax Co., NC. OBIT: Frances Louise Tharrington Crawley, 84, died peacefully in her home in Aurelian Springs on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

Frances was born April 14, 1926 to the late Herbert Tharrington and Victoria Journigan Tharrington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Ann Crawley, Faye Marie Crawley and Julia "Junie" Louise Crawley.

In addition to her husband, Junius Walter Crawley, she is survived by her daughters, Deborah C Barrow of Aurelian Springs, and Patricia C. Powell and husband Dave of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Meagan Elizabeth Barrow, John Walter Powell and Julya Marie Powell and special care givers, Ethelean Richardson and Alice Perry.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM at Hockaday Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements, Thursday, September 23, 2010 and other times at the home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2010 at Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Sidney Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabor Methodist Church Cemetery in Aurelian Springs.

She married Junius Walter Crawley. Junius was born November 24, 1919 in Halifax Co., NC. Junius was the son of Sebastian Cabot Crawley and Annie Peebles Harris. Junius died December 13, 2012 in Halifax, Halifax Co., NC. OBIT: Junius Walter Crawley, 93 of 335 Hawkins Chapel Road died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Crawley was born November 24, 1919 in Halifax County to the late Sebastian Cabot Crawley and Annie Peebles Harris Crawley. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Frances Louise Tharrington Crawley; Daughters: Linda Ann Crawley, Faye Marie Crawley and Julia "Junie" Louise Crawley.

Mr. Crawley was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and very passionate about his family. He was generous and compassionate to everyone he met and was always honest and trustworthy. He served in the US Army during WWII where he fought in the battle of Normandy, he was a former commander of the American Legion Shaw- May Post 38 and was honored in recent years as the oldest living member of American Legion Shaw - May Post 38. Mr Crawley was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters: Deborah C. Barrow of Aurelian Springs and Patricia C. Powell and her husband Dave of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren: Meagan Elizabeth Barrow, John Walter Powell and Julya Marie Powell; and special caregivers Lisa Gupton, Ethelean Richardson, Shea Carpenter and Alice Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Sid Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

Frances Louise Tharrington and Junius Walter Crawley had the following children:
