Phillip Sterling¹¹ Perdue (Mary Helen¹⁰ Cottrell, Martha Ann⁹ Tharrington, Joseph Cary⁸, Helen Martha.⁷ Edwards, Margaret⁶ Allgood, John Bunyan⁵, Moses⁴, Edward³, William², Edward¹ Algood) was born in Franklin Co., NC September 9, 1941. Phillip died January 22, 2001 in Johnson City, TN. OBIT: Dr. Phillip Sterling Perdue, DDS, 59, of Banner Creek Rd., Banner Elk, N.C., died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 in a Johnson City Hospital.

He was a son of Thurman Perdue of Louisburg, N.C. and the late Mary Helen Cottrell Perdue.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina, he was a Doctor of Dental Science. Dr. Perdue was a member of the Banner Elk Christian Fellowship.

Survivors include his father, Thurman Perdue of Louisburg, N.C.; his wife, Joan Sanders Perdue; one daughter, Mary Shannon Perdue of Linville; one son, Matthew Hight Perdue of Durham; one sister, Rebecca Stamper of Henderson; and one brother, Louis Perdue of Louisburg.

Services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Banner Elk Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Carl Clawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Montezuma Cemetery.

Phillip Sterling Perdue and Joan Sanders had the following children:
