He married Mary Lou Abbott December 7, 1929 in Vance Co., NC. Mary was born February 8, 1913 in Vance Co., NC. Mary was the daughter of William (Billie) Lou Abbott. Mary died June 20, 2002 in Louisburg, Franklin Co., NC. OBIT: Mary Lou Ayscue, 89, of 641 Rocky Ford Road died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Franklin Regional Medical Center. She was a Vance County native and the daughter of the late Billy L. and Annie Tharrington. She was the widow of Robert Nathaniel Ayscue. She was a member of Liberty Vance United Church of Christ and owner and operator of Mary's Rest Home for 30 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Vance United Church of Christ by the Revs. John Yevak and Tammy Ayscue. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are her daughters, Peggy J. Ayscue of Hendersonville, Catherine L. Duke of Henderson and Bessie Ann Simpson of Monroe; her sons, Michael W. "Mack" Ayscue and Robert N. Ayscue, both of Louisburg, Felton Ray Ayscue of Butner, and Gary L. Ayscue of the Epsom community; 14 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, and other times at the home.
