OBIT: Dick Lamar, 78, passed away on January 22, 2005, after a long illness. Born June 27, 1926, to Robert and Frances Lamar, he grew up
in Houston and Cabool. After serving in the Armed Forces from 1942 to 1950, he attended Drury College. He married Barbara Erke September 3,
1950, and had one son. Dick had a long career in sales and lived in many states before coming home to Springfield. He is survived by
Barbara, his wife of 54 years; his son, Bruce and wife, Karen; grandson, Richard Lamar; granddaughter, Jennie Garrison and husband, Cory;
his sister, Jeannie Puhan; and last, but by no means least, his great-grandson, Cayden Garrison. (Scooter) provided countless hours of joy
for Dick in the last few months of his life. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, love of life, and willingness to help
anyone in need. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2005, in GormanScharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial with full
military honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation is today from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home at 1947 East Seminole.
He married Barbara Erke May 3, 1950.
