11319 iv. Dewey Allen Dunaway was born in Florence, Florence Co., SC October 30, 1918. Dewey died June 3, 2001 in Waycross, Ware Co., GA. OBIT: funeral service for Mr. Dewey Allen Dunaway, 82, will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Smith Funeral Home in Blackshear. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Waycross. There will be visitation tonight from 6 until 8 o'clock at the funeral home. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a retired deliveryman for Booker Oil Co. in Waycross. He was born in Florence, S.C. but resided in Waycross most of his life. His wife, Frances Thigpen Dunaway, preceded him in death. His parents were Henry Adam Dunaway and Gladys Mable Brown Dunaway. He died Sunday night (June 3, 2001) at Satilla Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. The survivors include a special friend, Sue Holder of Waycross, and her children, Susan Hagin (husband Paul) of Waycross and Sharon Hendley (husband Jacky) of Franklin, N.C.; two nieces, Janice White of Birmingham, Ala. and Karen White of Mobile, Ala.; a nephew, Phillip W. Dunaway of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and many other relatives.
Frances was born September 21, 1913. Frances died May 1977 in Waycross, Ware Co., GA.
