Norma Rae¹² Smith (Wessie Mae¹¹, Lawrence Allen (Donnie)¹⁰, Nicholas (Nick) Napolean⁹, Amanda Melvina (Vine)⁸, Priscilla⁷ Allgood, Wyatt⁶, William (Pikey) Henry⁵, William John⁴, Edward³, William², Edward¹ Algood) was born in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS October 27, 1931. Norma died December 17, 2008 in Westlake, LA. OBIT:: Norma Rae Smith Isdale, 77, died Dec. 17, 2008, at her residence She was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Brookhaven. She was a talented seamstress. Her childhood years were spent in Brookhaven. She had been a longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas, prior to moving to Westlake, La., where she and her husband made their home for the past 28 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Westlake.

Survivors include her husband, C.G. "Glynn" Isdale; her three daughters, Col. Betty McCoy, retired reserve, and spouse, Col. Mike McCoy, retired, of Lansing, Kan., Lt. Col. Bennie Katilus, retired reserve, and spouse, Major Joe Katilus, retired, of Stockton, Calif., and Glenda Faye Brown and spouse, Sam Brown, of Riviera, Texas; her five grandchildren, Courtney Mrazek and her husband, Cody, Colleen Ley and husband, Daniel, Samantha Katilus, Tracy McCoy and James Michael McCoy; her two great-grandchildren, Chayse Mrazek and Witton Ley; a sister-in-law, Barbara Bankens, of Westlake; her two brothers-in-law, Charles Isdale, of College Station, Texas, and William Isdale and wife, Shelby, of Baytown, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie J. and Wessie Mae Smith, of Brookhaven; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vester E. and Katherine Isdale, of DeQuincy, La.; a brother-in-law, Johnnie M. Bankens Jr., of Westlake, La., and a sister-in-law, Dr. Lucille Brown Isdale, of College Station.

Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, La. The Rev. Rodney Glynn Bankens will officiate services. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday evening.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Odyssey Health Care of Lake Charles, 814 W. McNeese St., Lake Charles, La. 70601.

Norma Rae Smith and Carroll Glynn Isdale had the following children:
