She married Jessie Willard Watts. Jessie was born June 6, 1921. Jessie was the son of Marshall W. Watts and Beulah Smith. Jessie died August 10, 1975 in MS. Jessie and Alva were buried in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS.

Alva Smith and Jessie Willard Watts had the following children:

 41478 i. Danny Clark¹² Watts (living).

 41479 ii. Eddie Dean Watts was born in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS June 24, 1954. Eddie died September 8, 2005 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Services for Eddie Dean Watts, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Watts, 51, died Sept. 8, 2005, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on June 24, 1954, to S. W. Watts and Ava Smith Watts. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors are his brother, Danny Watts and his wife, Beverly, of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews.
