Francis died June 16, 1974 in Springfield, Greene Co., MO. Obit: Francis A. Smith, 70, of Long Lane, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday at General Osteopathic Hospital in Springfield after a long illness. He was a retired mechanic.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Iva; three daughters: Marie of the home, Letha Maxwell of Halfway, and Retha Stockton of McLoud, Oklahoma; three brothers: Charlie and Richard of Long Lane and Neil of Pleasant of Pasco, Washington and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 19, at 3:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harold Mayes and Rev. Ted Bass officiating. Interment was in Gardens of Memory Cemetery under direction of the Montgomery Funeral Home of Buffalo.Marie Catherine nevered married. She lives on the place where she grew up at Cloverdale.
He married Iva Merle Rogers August 20, 1925. Iva was born June 27, 1894. Iva died November 26, 1978 in Long Lane, Dallas Co., MO. Iva Merie Smith, 84 of Long Lane, died at 12 noon Sunday, November 26, at Park Central Hospital where she had been a patient for several days. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters: Miss Marie Smith of Long Lane; Mrs. Retha Stockton of McLoud, Oklahoma and Mrs. Letha Maxwell of Halfway; two brothers, Joe Rogers of Orient, Ohio and George Dewey Rogers of Fairfax, Virginia; two grandchildren; one step granddaughter and two step great granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 29, at 3:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harold Mayes oficiating. Burial followed in Gardens of Memory Cemetery under direction of the Montgomery Funeral Home of Buffalo.Marie Catherine nevered married. She lives on the place where she grew up at Cloverdale.
Francis Aaron Smith and Iva Merle Rogers had the following children:

23728 iii. Marie Catherine Smith was born in Clovedale, Dallas Co., MO January 12, 1934. Marie died December 20, 2016 in Bolivar, Polk Co., MO.
