Henry died January 27, 2007 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Henry Lee Shore, 78, of Madison Road, Mocksville, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Yadkin County to the late James Blaine and Ella Hoots Shore. Mr. Shore was very active in First Baptist Church of Mocksville, serving as deacon for many years. He was active in community service work, being a member of Ruritan for many years and served as Piedmont District Governor in 1978. He was employed by C.C. Sanford and Sons Department Store and assisted in opening the Belk store in Mocksville, holding the position of assistant manager for 20 years. Upon leaving Belk, he was named executive director of Mocksville/Davie Chamber of Commerce. He was elected Register of Deeds in 1988, serving 12 years until retirement in 2000, and was very active in the N.C. Association of Register of Deeds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Luther Shore, the Rev. Clarence Shore and Cl! yde Shore, all of Yadkinville; and Francis Shore and Thomas Shore, both of Mocksville. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Eaton Shore of the home; two daughters, Brenda (Tim) Allen and Nancy (Sam) Sheets, all of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Shelley (Courtney) Holt, Jason (Amy) Sheets, Brandon Allen and Travis Allen; two sisters, Angeline (the Rev. Grady) Tutterow and Jeanette Shore, all of Mocksville; a sister-in-law, Lois Shore of Mocksville; and a brother-in-law, Clarence (Eva) Eaton of Advance. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at First Baptist Church in Mocksville, with Dr. Van Lankford officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 29, at Eaton Funeral Home.
