He married Sarah Elizabeth Garrett March 4, 1852 in Muscogee Co, GA. Sarah was born Jujly 1830 in Walnut Grove, GA. Sarah was the daughter of Elisha Garrett and Nancy (__). Sarah died March 4,1912 in Jefferson Co., AL. Census 1: 1850, Harris Co Ga pg 92 B. Census 2: 1860, Heard Co Ga census pg 715.

 2893 i. Martha P⁹ Holmes was born March 20 1854.

 2894 ii. Avarilla Michel Holmes was born August 1856.

 2895 iii. William Michael Holmes was born abt 1859.
