James died September 24, 1996 in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA. OBIT: James Walton PATE, 79, died Tuesday at the Doctors Hospital. // Funeral services for Mr. PATE will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery. The Reverend Mike WILLIAMS will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Michael PATE, Brian HESCHT, Russell PATE, Gary FURMANEK, Allen FURMANEK and Jay FURMANEK. // Mr. PATE was born December 8, 1916 in Columbus, GA, son of Walter Thomas PATE and Minnie Mae PHILLIPS PATE. He was retired with the maintenance department with the Muscogee County School District, an Army veteran of WWII, and lived in Columbus most of his life. // Survivors include his two sons, Ronald PATE and Gene PATE, both of Columbus; two daughters, Sarah CLARK of Beulah, AL, and Bernice HESCHT of Freemont, OH; two brothers, Robert PATE and Otis PATE, both of Columbus; step-mother, Laura PATE of Columbus; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren
