She married Elmer A. Tooke July 16, 1942 in Homer, Claiborne Parish, LA. Elmer was born January 9, 1917. Elmer was the son of James Clarence Tooke and Annie Estelle English. Elmer died February 1, 2002 in Rayville, Richland Parrish, LA. Obit: Mr. Tooke graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana Tech with a B.S. degree in agriculture in 1942. He retired from the Farmers Home Administration of the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 33 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rayville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and James Clarence Tooke; and his sister, Doris Smith.
He was survived by his wife, Opal Allgood Tooke of Rayville; three children, Martha Harrell of Rayville, John Tooke and wife Michelle of Conway, AR, and Linda Harrell and husband James of Archibald; one sister, Mildred Bell and husband Albert of Many; two brothers, James Franklin Tooke, and David B. Tooke and wife Glenda, all of Homer; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, nieces and nephews.
Annie Opal Allgood and Elmer A. Tooke had the following children:
